The peach is a native of China, but was introduced into Europe some 2000 years ago. There are many varieties, all characterized by their downy skin.
The lychee is the fruit of a Chinese tree called the Soapberry, and is also cultivated in India. The outer skin of the lychee is hard, brittle and reddish brown.
