1 750-ml bottle medium-bodied dry red wine, preferably Spanish
1/3 cup Warre’s Ruby Port
1/3 cup Bonny Doon Framboise, or other sweet raspberry wine
½ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
About 3 tablespoons simple syrup (see below), to taste
1 to 2 plums, apricots or peaches thinly sliced
1 cup berries (blackberries, raspberries or blueberries) |

Mix red wine, port, Framboise, orange juice, lemon juice, lime juice and simple syrup. Taste and adjust with simple syrup or citrus juice, if needed. Add the plum slices and berries and serve.
To make simple syrup: Add equal amounts of sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook until the sugar is dissolved. Cool before adding to drink. Simple syrup will keep in the refrigerator for up to a month, so make a half-cup or so, for convenience. |
